Merry Christmas!

Here are some photos of us this Christmas. Baby G's first photo by the Christmas tree:

We had a wonderful day of celebration by heading to Mom and Dad V's house to see them and Scott, Jill and Rocky for a Christmas morning breakfast. We were all up bright and early. Mom made breakfast strata (everyone's favorite!) with fancy breads, pears, pineapples and juice and coffee for all! Yum! We then opened gifts with everyone. We got some wonderful gifts and were excited to show everyone all we had been shopping for. We spent the afternoon there hanging out and having some ham for dinner and playing the Wii (Christmas gift from Mom and Dad G). It was so nice to spend time with everyone, but we missed all who could not be with us.

Here is a photo of Ron and I in front of Mom and Dad V's Christmas tree before Dad and Ron went out hunting. It didn't turn out too bad--we both struggled with colds all week!

Ron and I both agreed it was a great weekend, but we could not help thinking about all the things that will change next year! Ron says he will have to practice packing the car if we have to take anything else with us! :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

"Oooh, oh! We're half way there..."

Week 20

"...Take my hand and we'll make it
I swear - livin' on a prayer."
Who says it better than Bon Jovi?

20 weeks down...only 20 weeks to go! (give or take) :)

Hard to believe but Baby G is now the size of a cantaloupe...especially considering that he/she started out the size of a poppy seed!

Baby G's First Photo Shoot

"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. Deville..."

Today was our first ultrasound of Baby G! He/she is weighing in at around 11 ounces and measuring at 20 weeks and 2 days ( a little ahead of the estimated due date, but not sure if it is enough to make any difference). Apparently Baby G is a bit of a Wiggle Worm, so we had an interesting time trying to get pictures, but the ultrasound was great! On the screen we could see little fingers, toes, hands, etc.

Profile view (with a little bit of Baby G's arm in the way):

Baby G facing the "camera". Here you can see hands, feet and face:

A bit of a "skeletal" view of baby's face:

I get a kick out of you....

Yes, you baby G!

Today I felt a kick! A real kick....up to this point, it has just been lots of strange sensations that I didn't know whether to attribute to the baby or to just chalk up to digestion:) I called Ron at work right away. He was so excited when he came in the door last night he didn't even want to talk to me--instead he spoke directly to the belly. LOL.

This week has been a big week at our house though...Tuesday I had my first ever true bout with morning sickness. Apparently, Baby G decided he/she did not want Frosted Flakes for breakfast. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'm OH SO happy I have not been experiencing that daily for the last 19 weeks!

We have a doctor's appointment on Thursday where we will here the baby's hearbeat again and hopefully schedule our ultrasound! Even though we are not finding out the gender of the baby, we are still excited for an opportunity to see him/her.

Our Blog

We have decided that the best way to keep family and friends (near and far) updated about the everyday happenings as we await the arrival of Baby G, and especially after he/she makes his or her appearance was to start a blog! So...here we go!

We hope to keep you updated with photos and thoughts and to hopefully prevent missing someone on the email list when exciting things happen:)

You can subscribe to or "follow" this blog so you will know when it is updated, by clicking "Follow" on the right hand side of the page.
